I had the absolute pleasure of filming Rebecca and Ryan’s wedding at the beautiful Fairbank Wedding Barn, and it’s a day I’ll never forget. From the moment I walked into the getting-ready room, the excitement was palpable. Natural light poured in, creating a bright and welcoming space that was perfect for capturing those candid moments. Rebecca and her bridal party were all smiles, and big shoutout to Hollie Mae’s Hairdressing and Jade Ryder for Makeup—they made everyone look absolutely stunning.
One of the most touching moments was when Rebecca’s brother stepped in to walk her down the aisle, honouring their late father. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. His heartfelt speech later on was filled with love and memories, bringing both laughter and tears. Moments like these are why I love what I do—it’s all about capturing genuine emotions that make each wedding unique.
Working alongside photographer Peter Ostrowski was an absolute blast. His bright and bubbly personality was infectious, and his high energy kept everyone laughing and relaxed. He had this amazing ability to put a smile on everyone’s face, which made for some fantastic shots.
With around 80-100 guests, the wedding had the perfect mix of intimate and lively. The weather couldn’t have been better—a beautiful sunny day that let everyone enjoy ice cream on the lawn. Guests got into some friendly competition with fun lawn games like limbo, welly throwing, and bowling. The laughter and cheers were so much fun to capture on film.
The venue looked incredible decked out in a white and green eucalyptus theme, adding a fresh and elegant touch to the rustic charm of the barn. And let’s talk about the food—Karen Rhodes Catering served up a fantastic Sunday lunch-style dinner that was a hit with everyone (myself included!). Being well-fed definitely keeps the creative juices flowing!
The evening entertainment took things to another level. The band Kiwi had everyone dancing with their lively tunes, and DJ Craig Howarth kept the party vibes going late into the night. The dance floor was packed, and you could just feel the joy and excitement in the air.
Rebecca and Ryan’s wedding was more than just a celebration of their love; it was a heartfelt gathering of family and friends creating memories to last a lifetime. Being a part of their special day was truly an honour, and it’s experiences like these that remind me why I’m so passionate about capturing weddings.
